Trap Range Rules and Guidance

Range Officer has complete control of the range during the shooting session.

Range hours are 9 AM to Sunset

Trap hours are set by the Trap Committee and posted on the trap house. 

Shooting fees will be set and posted by the Trap Committee.

When the trap range is open and operating a fee will be charged. The fee shall be less for members than for non-members.

Hearing and eye protection is required for all shooters and spectators.

Spectators must remain outside the shooting station area.

Guns must be unloaded with actions open and placed on provided stand or in shooters vehicle when not in use.

Guns must be cleared, chambers open when not on the the shooting line

No one is permitted to go down range without the permission of the range officer.

Before anyone is permitted down range, chambers will be emptied and an all clear signal given by the Range Officer

Shooters will maintain an open chamber until it is their turn to shoot in the rotation on the line.

When shooting a singles game only one (1) round will be chambered at a time. Shooting a doubles game only two (2) rounds will be chambered at a time.

During the conduct of trap committee scheduled events;

Shotguns no larger than 12 gauge will be allowed 

Only lead shot size #7.5 or smaller and steel shot #6 or smaller will be permitted on the range

Use of manual trap machines

There are two manual trap machines for member use. The machines are available for use except when the trap committee is operating a scheduled trap shoot

Instructions for the operation of the manual machines are posted on the trap house bulletin board 

Shooters must provide the own clay targets

Shooters should position themselves to the right or left and slightly forward of the trap machine to insure the safety of the shooter and the person operating the machine

When done using the manual trap machine release the tension on the machine arm and replace the cover. See posted instructions
